A COFFEE kind of week

As soon as we arrived at the State Museum, she offered to make me a cup of coffee in the play kitchen. Thea has noticed that Jason and I are trying to cut back on coffee, and I think she’s taunting me.

Kid haircut #1! Leah from Holiday Hair doled out colored-comb after colored-comb, as Finn dropped them on the floor. She’s the best.

Kid haircut #2! Lauren from Holiday Hair has been Thea’s go-to hair gal forever… or, for the past three years or so anyway.

I always forget about the Dum Dum part of the trip to the hair place, but Thea sure doesn’t!

We passed some time in the Curiosity Connection at The State Museum.

Thea learned how to milk a cow made of wood and styrafoam.

They took a drive in the countryside.

She built and dressed a snowman.

And was very pleased with her handiwork.

And then discovered the comfort of a melted pillow snowman.

They took a water break under the apple tree… but apple trees are not in season, and the velcro felted snowflakes and bird cut-outs aren’t as much fun to stick on the tree.

He built some serious things.

And found some pig pals.

She rode a pig home after her produce harvest.

And he found the sheer glee of using the tunnels to sneak up on me as I chatted with other moms.

And lastly, there was a brief pile-up on the school bus slide, as I coaxed them to get their coats so we could leave.

And we ended the weekend with a phone call to our friend Mary (who didn’t answer).
