On Saturday, the guys made 139 deer bolognas on our kitchen island.
Last weekend, their friend Jack sent them home with 67 pounds of venison steaks, loins, and other cuts, saying he’d just never get to them. So, in our garage earlier this week, Damon and Jason unwrapped the meat and mixed in bacon tips, brown sugar, maple syrup, and some spices. Thea and Finn watched with great interest.
They spent about eight hours on Saturday, grinding and re-grinding and stuffing the meat in casings.
139 bolognas netted about 46 each.
In other news, Thea’s preschool class did a chapter on teeth and healthy dental hygiene habits.
It snowed again.
Thea showed me her teeth and the things she’s learned about them.
Finn’s class did a chapter on Community Helpers, this week. He showed me his artwork, featuring a doctor’s kit and a tooth with toothpaste-paint, among other things. This is the look he gives, when I say, “show me your teeth!”
Finn read lots of books to his friends, while sitting on the trampoline.
Jason went swimming with Finn.
Some friends from swim classes came over to play and have dinner with us. Yamella is in Thea’s class, and Ulysses is in the same class as Finn.
