The snow set the program, early this week.
On Tuesday morning, we opened the door to show Thea why we couldn’t go outside just yet. We were happy to wait until most of the 17 inches had fallen and our neighbor with the snowblower helped us out.
To pass the time, we put up the ladybug tent in the dormer.
The boy did lots of trampoline jumping on a snowy backdrop.
Jason and the girl made blueberry pancakes.
We practiced our lightsaber skills.
We roasted marshmallows.
Finally, we got into the snow! Right away we had to find a drift shallow enough to make angels!
One kid loved the snow.
The other one wasn’t so sure.
Making butt marks in the snow was super funny!
The hot chocolate afterwards may have been the best part of all.
Most messy = most fun of all.
Later in the week, we took the kids bowling for the first time.
The pop-up gutter bumpers and the rack for rolling the kids’ balls were very helpful!
Much of the excitement involved keeping Finn from getting his fingers mashed by the bowling balls rolling through the ball return, chasing him across the deck, and keeping him out of other people’s lanes.
He warmed up to the snow.
And Nonna and Baba dropped by on their way home from Florida! My shirtless children had just enjoyed another round of messy hot chocolate.
It’s hard to find a moment that’s happy for everyone.
