I found Thea in the kitchen, perfecting her sandwich-making skills. “Did you pull that together all by yourself,” I asked? She practically rolled her eyes at me: “Of course.” Her Daddy likes turkey sandwiches, and she does too.
Spreading Altman Family sauce on a BBQ!
Thea scored back-to-back goals during her soccer game on Saturday, and the second one was incredible. From a throw-in three quarters of the way up field, she turned the ball toward the *opposing* team’s goal and dribbled it up the sideline, without letting it roll out of bounds. All the way to the goal! She’s never controlled the ball like that for such a long stretch, and we were so proud!
She was proud too! On a side note, all the pink on the field and Thea – including the spray-painted ribbon mid-field – is a breast cancer awareness promotion. Thea wanted take home that pink ball!
She reveled in the goal-making kudos!
Later, Finn and Thea went to a birthday party at the Y.
The next day was Baba’s birthday.
Luckily for him, the Party Had Arrived.
Nonna tried to teach Thea how to play checkers. There seemed to be some misunderstandings…
Thea was excited about her new bedding set from Nonna and held it in her lap for the whole ride home… Finn evidently was mildly disgusted by something – who knows?
Later, Jason and Thea began making the Irish Christmas Cake.
Each Sunday between now and Christmas, they’ll feed the cake a teaspoon of whiskey.
Finn made sound effects for his PB&J sandwich / hungry dinosaur.
As we wound down the day, they sat on our bed and Thea claimed to be a dentist, examining a boo boo on his hand.
